1. Introduction

Liriko (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Liriko mobile app (the “App”) and this website (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App or the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. What Liriko collects

Lyrics & song metadata

Your songs (title, body text, BPM, scale, font preferences, and timestamps) are stored locally on your device using iOS AsyncStorage. In v1, Liriko has no cloud sync, so we do not receive a copy of your songs on our servers.

Website analytics & logs

The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like most websites, Vercel automatically receives standard server logs—such as IP address, user-agent, referer, and the pages you visited—for security, abuse prevention, and basic traffic analytics. We collect only what is necessary to keep the Site online and we do not sell this data.

What we never do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not run advertising networks on the Site or in the App.
• We do not use your lyrics to train machine-learning models.

3. What we do not collect (v1)

• No accounts. v1 has no sign-up, sign-in, or email requirement. You can use the App without giving us anything.
• No advertising identifiers. We do not use IDFA or any cross-app tracking for advertising.
• No lyric uploads. In v1, your lyrics never leave your device through Liriko itself. (If you choose to share via iOS Share Sheet, you’re sending them to another app—see section 5.)
• No third-party analytics SDKs in the App in v1. If we add anonymous crash reporting or analytics later, we will update this policy and ask for any required consent.

4. Rhyme databases

Liriko ships with offline SQLite databases for English and Filipino (Tagalog) word lists and phonetic data. When you tap Rhyme, the query runs entirely on your iPhone. No words, fragments, or queries are sent to our servers or any third party.

5. Third-party services

• Apple App Store. Liriko is distributed through the App Store. Apple handles app downloads, updates, and any future in-app payments. Apple’s privacy policy applies to that interaction. Liriko v1 is offered free of charge and contains no in-app purchases.
• iOS Share Sheet. When you share lyrics from Liriko, iOS hands the text to whichever app you pick (Mail, Notes, Messages, etc.). We do not control where the lyrics go after that point—the destination app’s privacy practices apply.
• Website hosting. The Site is served by Vercel, which processes request data on our behalf.

6. Children

Liriko is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at privacy@YOUR_DOMAIN and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Data retention

Your songs and settings remain on your device until you delete them within Liriko (and empty the recycle bin) or until you delete the App. Removing the App from your iPhone clears its local data, unless you have restored from an iOS backup that contains it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU’s GDPR or California’s CCPA—including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing.

Because Liriko v1 does not transmit your songs to our servers, the most direct way to exercise those rights is to manage data inside the App: edit or delete songs, empty the recycle bin, or uninstall the App. For website-related data or any questions, email privacy@YOUR_DOMAIN.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your songs live on your device, you are responsible for using a device passcode, keeping iOS up to date, and managing your iOS backups.

10. International users

This policy is written in English and is governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you access the App or Site from another jurisdiction, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page before they take effect.
